Certificate of Authenticity
When buying an original artwork it is important to have appropriate provenance of the piece you are buying. Art-related institution (auction houses and museums, galleries) always ask for a proper certificate of authenticity or provenance on the specific artwork regardless it is going to be sold or donated. A certificate of authenticity is not valid unless it is signed by the artist, an established dealer or agent of the artist, or an acknowledged expert on the artist.
When buying art through Art-havana you will be provided with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist himself. This certificate states that the art is unquestionably by the artist who signs it and contains detailed information about the artwork. It includes the art’s exact title, dimensions, year of production, media as well as a photograph of the art. It also contains art-havana stamp and full contact information.
Art-havana provides a certificate of authenticity not only to those who have bought art through our project. Art collectors may contact art-havana (contact@art-havana.com) to request a proper certificate of authenticity on a given Cuban cotemporary artwork bought in the past. Art-havana will give instructions on how to proceed to certificate those artworks produced by Cuban contemporary artists. Price of certificates will not go above the 10% of the current price of the artwork.
Art-havana has the right to reject requests on authenticity of artworks of doubtful provenance.
