Ever Fonseca Painter, engraver, sculptor, ceramist and drawer. He was born on September, 1939 and was qualified by the Cuban prestigious historian Julio Le Riverend as Story Teller of Colors and Demiurgo Painter, by the remarkable writer Miguel Barnet. In 1963, he enters National School of Art and at this same year, made his first solo exhibition at Santiago de Cuba finishing in 1967 his paintings studies. Taking part of numerous Solo and Group Exhibitions in Cuba and abroad, his artwork has been bestowed with lot of Prizes among them, it is worthy to mention, First Prize of Painting at Fine Arts National Museum, 1970; Painting Prize at III Festival of International Painting in Cagnes -South- Mer, France, 1971; Painting Prize at II National Juvenile Salon of Plastic Arts, First Prize at Painting-Poster Contest, convoked by UNESCO for Latin America and Caribbean countries, 1973; First Prize of AIAP from UNESCO in 1977 and 1979. Ciguapa Sculpture in wood. In 1984, he received Prize to Artistic Values of the Art Work as a Whole and the Order for 1300 years of Bulgarian Culture. In 1985 received prize at UNEAC`85 Salon being selected also to represent Cuban Painting at International Art Museum XX Century, TIMOTCA/UNESCO together with Ernesto González Puig, Raúl Martínez, Manuel Mendive and Tomás Sánchez. Next year he was conferred Cuban Posters Prize at the International Contest celebrating 40th Anniversary of UNESCO. During 1988, his pictorial artwork was acknowledged, receiving the Distinción por la Cultura Nacional conferred by State Council of the Cuban Republic, the First Prize from Salon of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and René Portocarrero Prize from the International Association of Plastic Artists of UNESCO (AIAP). Fishing Jigües of the Sun In 1997, his work Los Jigües del Sol is selected to represent Cuba at Art Museum XX Century TIMOTCA displaying for the first time at New York during the General Conference of ONU. At the following year, his artwork integrated Humanity Patrimony, Man Rights and Artistic Memory of XX Century Collections exhibited in Ginebra and New York, EUA, painting Los Jigües del Mar is also selected to illustrate Libertad`98 book, manual of teaching about man rights and artistic memory of XX century. In 2001, Superior Institute of Art (ISA) conferred him a Diploma due to his artistic merit. His creations, where fantasy dances in an expressive and very personal world entwined to a magic touch of what is real and what is fiction, are exposed at remarkable centers in Cuba and abroad highlighting: National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba; International Museum of Art XX Century, TIMOTCA, New York, EUA; Museum Of Modern Art in Badajoz; Contemporary Art Museum of Vilnius, Lithuania; National Museum of Sczcezin, Polony; Plastic Arts Museum, Leipzing, Germany; Permanent Gallery of Non-Align Countries, Yugoslavia and Patrimony of Humanity Collection; Artistic Memory of XX Century from Ginebra and New York, belonging to ONU. |
